Brian Y. Sera is an architectural professional motivated, detailed oriented, and focused in his field with high quality standards for design and construction. His knowledge and experience in the field of Architecture is gained through 25 years of working with high-end facility design, commercial, and residential projects. He is disciplined and resourceful in managing and overseeing projects to 100% completion. His exceptional commitment to project teams with leadership capabilities has given him the understanding and perspective required to achieve the highest level of communication skills with an acute attention to detail.

Mr. Sera served nearly 4 years (1 year as Chairperson) on the Design Review Board with the City of Monterey Park, Ca. He was one of five members (volunteers) appointed by the City’s Mayor. He led the board by serving as the City Council’s advisor on community design in collaboration with the Planning Division whose staff provided zoning and environmental expertise, code information and written reports. His primary responsibility was to review architectural projects, including commercial/residential developments and remodels, signage design, landscaping and site improvements.

In his architectural practice, Mr. Sera has over two decades of experience managing and collaborating with production, coordination and quality control of construction, design, and installation drawing packages. Through the years with the fundamentals of Architecture, he has gained knowledge and understanding of building and site construction by taking on roles as Project Coordinator, Project Manager, CAD Consultant, Lead CAD Technician, Facility Design Manager, Field Supervisor, Project Administrator, Senior Show Set Design Lead, Master Planning Consultant, Area Development Designer, and Architectural Designer. He has a history of extensive collaboration with Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Interior Design Architects, Landscape Architects, Executive Producers, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Licensed General Contractors. He has worked on 35 projects per year on average for facility design implementation in the field as part of the Placemaking team at Universal Studios Hollywood, Ca. His responsibilities included generating and coordinating fabrication drawings of shade structures, guest kiosks, signage and thematic elements for field installation performed by the Technical Services team at USH. As part of the Warner Brothers Project Team, he was the point of contact for their facility coordination to ensure 100% design intent in the field for installation work by their vendors/manufacturers, trades, and artists in the UK, CA, and Florida.

Additional experience includes field verification and documentation of existing facilities, residential homes, and commercial properties with pre-existing site conditions and building infrastructure for purposes of future development, new construction, remodels, renovations, tenant improvements, and upgrades to meet standard building codes and accessibility requirements per local and international standards (International Code Council, Florida Building Code 2023, 8th Edition, Americans with Disabilities Act). He has produced two consecutive years of updated evacuation plans for USH as an annual life/safety requirement mandated by the City of Los Angeles Fire Department. During his time with USH, he performed field assessments of existing conditions on the property to resolve and communicate solutions for the property to remain current with code standards. He played an important role with NBC Universal’s Management Team as the gate keeper of their property map by maintaining record of the overall site plan of current and future area development, buildings, access roads, designated emergency fire lanes for both theme park and the City Walk.
