John Thomazin, MSME, PE, DFE

Mechanical Engineer

Located in Orlando, Mr. Thomazin is a licensed professional engineer specializing in mechanical and electrical systems. He is a board-certified member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE), holding the designation of Diplomate Forensic Engineer (DFE). With a broad range of expertise in manufacturing, safety engineering, structural and mechanical design, reliability, computer-aided engineering, consulting, and project management, he offers comprehensive services. His areas of focus include vehicle accident reconstruction, farm accidents, structural and mechanical systems, product liability, premises liability, failure analysis, and finite element modeling.

 

As an experienced engineering consultant, Mr. Thomazin has successfully designed and evaluated various structures such as agricultural buildings, commercial buildings, metal buildings, and foundations. He also possesses expertise in the assessment of agricultural and commercial machinery, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems. By applying engineering principles and physics, he conducts forensic evaluations of machinery, crash investigations and reconstructions, as well as consumer product assessments.

 

With a notable background as a senior forensic engineer and as a partner in an engineering firm, Mr. Thomazin is a seasoned troubleshooter who brings practical experience to projects. Additionally, he has served as an Adjunct Engineering Instructor, teaching courses on Statics, Introduction to Engineering, Calculus II, and Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis at Central Community College in Columbus, NE. Prior to this, he worked as a design and project engineer. Notably, Mr. Thomazin also served as a Military Police Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves.

 

Since 2008, Mr. Thomazin has been retained by both plaintiff and defense clients, offering his expertise in civil cases across state and federal jurisdictions. Drawing from his background as an instructor and project manager, he explains complex technical concepts in a simplified and relatable manner. He strives to make his testimony memorable and easily understandable by ensuring that complex concepts are simple and engaging to the audience.
